Requirement

Spontaneous glass failure is a common problem in large construction projects. Glass can break and fall without warning, threatening the safety of people walking around or standing below. The Dubai Mall wanted to ensure that all areas of overhead glazing were secure in the event of glass failure to nullify the risk of injury if such an event should occur.

Solution

Following full scale testing at site against multiple competition, Pentagon Filmtek 8mil security film coupled with a custom anchoring system came out on top by a long way, offering the highest level of safety and confidence. On award of the contract, we proceeded to work alongside other contractors during the night removing the glass , installing film and replacing it. Our completely clear solution did not change the look of the glass at all and now provides a complete solution for the client.
