Fairmont Dubai is a 34-storey, 153 m (502 ft) skyscraper hotel completed in 2002 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The hotel is managed by the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts brand.
This hotel is directly linked to the Dubai World Trade Centre (the Dubai International Convention Centre), as well as to the metro system. The building has been modeled after an Arabic wind tower, known as Barajeel,[4] and it has become one of the most representative buildings of Sheikh Zayed Road. The hotel has 394 guestrooms, including 128 suites and penthouses.
Requirement
Upgrading main building glazing to a higher security standard including restaurant/bar area and entrance lobby to ensure safety of all guests and staff.
Solution
We treated the fairmont’s glazing with our high security clear 8mil security film and our Pentagon Flexible Anchoring profile, upgrading the existing glazing to withstand high impact damage and to contain glass fragments in the event of glass failure or accidental breakage.
